Well, I was informed that I should start doing this, and well I am not the type of person to just not do something. So tonight seemed as good a night as any. I guess I should start out by introducing myself and my family, and telling everyone a little bit about each of us.
My name of course is Hilary, and I am a young mother, and I couldn't be any happier to have this title. It is hard work being a mom and I really don't see how older moms have the energy to keep up with their little ones, but I guess we all do what we have to do. I love photography, it is a passion of mine. I love the outdoors although I burn everytime I go out there. I love every single fattening food that there is and I eat all of it and then complain that i am going to get fat. I had two kids within a year, and yes....I do know what causes that. I am a born and raised Louisiana girl, who was brought to texas...and desperately wants to go back home. I LOVE the LSU Tigers. GEAUX TIGERS!!! I watch every single episode of Grey's Anatomy. I recently got addicted to watching the Biggest Loser...go Ali! I think that that is all that I want to say about me right now....so moving on.
Grace is my oldest daughter, she is 14 months old. She was born on Feb. 28, 2007, and downstairs at the hospital there was a guy that went crazy on his ex-wife nurse and started shooting and they actually shut the er and front entrance down. He killed his ex and injured an elderly man, shooting him in the ankle. He then proceeded in fleeing from the scene where the cops caught him 2 miles down the road. I was in labor for 10.5 hours without any meds (au natural)...and only pushed 3 times...and there she was... my 6.5 lb little girl all covered in goo. One of the happiest moments of my life. On a side note....american idol was on the tv while I was delivering....at 9:53 cst.
Abigail is our youngest daughter, she will be 3 months old on monday. She was born Feb. 5, 2008, at 3:03pm with an epidural (worst headache of my life) and this was Mardi Gras...so I might have a partier on my hands in a few years. She is so young, and she has so many things happen to her. A month ago give or take a few days she was hospitalized for observation while blood cultures and spinal fluid could be grown in their labs to see what was wrong with, why she was running a fever of 101.4. It all started with an ear infection and being put on amoxicillan, fever went away for 24 hours then came back with a vengence. We waited approximately a week, continuing her antibiotics the whole time before taking her back in to see the doctor. They then did every kind of test you could imagine, on a 2 month old!!! I thought that maybe we would be there for only a couple of days 3 at the most, but we ended up staying 7 whole days!! I stayed in that one room for a week straight only leaving once to go down to the cafeteria to get my mother and me some drinks. Talk about cabin fever!! The whole time they couldn't tell us what was going on or what was wrong with her. Finally the results came back and said that there was bacteria growing in her spinal fluid and the fluid that was found is commonly found in tap water. So now, we are home and as a precaution she is strictly on bottled water. I am happy to say that she is better except for a case of thrush which is of course from the iv antibiotics that she received during her hospital stay.
My husband...I will just call him "D" for this....works offshore two weeks at a time. I miss him dearly while he is gone, but thanks to him I don't have to work and can stay home raising our daughters. He likes the same things that I do, but I must say he is more redneck than I am, he is a Texas boy. He is thrilled to have two daddys girls, however he did want to have a little boy that he could take fishing and hunting. He has decided though that we aren't going to have any more children and has taken the necessary steps to keep that from happening.
So with all of the introductions done...I think that I will leave this be for the night and continue in the morning with my daily posts for all to share, expecially my father who is gone for a month at a time overseas and doesn't get to see his granddaughters all that much.
