wow 2 months....gone

What can I say...two months have already flown by. I guess I could start with the big things that have happened. We as in our little family had our very first family vacation on the beach shores of Galveston, TX. It was fun, I guess. Just doing the same things I do everyday only at the beach. We also took Abigail back to the doctor, this time to a specialist in Plano, and he put her on 2 different inhalers. She goes back in a month. They still don't know what is wrong with her, why she is still coughing, gagging, and not sleeping. He did suggest the possibility that she could have abnormalities with her trachea. So they are going to do an upper GI and a swallow study to see what it might be. We are still waiting for that appt to be set up.

I also haven't talked to my best friend in what feels like a month and today was a BIG milestone in her life. She went back to school today, and put her son in daycare for the first time since he's been alive. I miss her dearly but I am so proud of her for getting her life together and bettering herself for her family. One day I will be there too.

New updates since I last started trying to update this thing. Abigail finally had her swallow study and her upper GI done. She has severe acid reflux, which means that when she reflux's (fluid or stomach acid comes up into her esophagus) so much comes up that her esophagus swells and that allows the fluid to go up to her airway, which then gets into her lungs. That is why she has her chronic cough. We are waiting on a doctor appointment to get her on a new antacid, and she is still on her inhalers, to try and prevent her from getting pnuemonia.

Also, she is trying to learn how to crawl, but she can only seem to go backward, or just push herself forward a couple of inches by thrusting her entire body onto her belly. Miss Grace is now talking in 2-3 word sentences. She is also really getting on board with the whole potty training thing. We have also moved her into a big girl bed. And so far so good. She has only fallen out of it one time. Thank God the mattress is only like 8 inches off the ground.

I also jut had my birthday. It was great, only thing that could have made it better is if my husband were home, but he will be home in less than a week. I will also be starting my job on sunday. That is when orientation is, I am excited but also a little apprehensive, since I have NEVER left my children on a regular basis with anyone, not even their dad. I always have one or both of them with me. This is going to be a big change for me, hell our whole little family. The great thing though, is now we will be able to actually save some money, so Vegas.....here we come!!!! That is as long as Dore` is still planning on getting married.

We have also had several hurricanes reek havoc along the gulf coast, those 2 would be Gustav and Ike....those assholes. Gustav had my entire family in Louisiana evacuate. My grandmother stayed where she was in Alexandria, my aunt and her family from Houma went to my grandmas house. And my aunt with her family who live in baton rouge, came here. Then Ike came.....dun dun dun....that bastard came straight for us...!! The bad thing is there was nowhere for us to go. So we just hunkered down and played lots of scattergories and drank lots of vodka and cranberry.....lol. Oh and we did lots of Wii Fit. Which I am glad to say that I only have 5 lbs to go. Back to Ike..... we really didn't get it really bad here, a little wind and not much rain. The power never went out at my house, and it flickered a few times at my parents house. However the Bolivar Peninsula, and even Bridge City and Orange, TX got it pretty bad. Galveston literally looks like a bomb went off. And BC and Orange had at least 9' of standing water.
